Train Car Fried Rice

  • 3 tbsps vegetable oil
  • 1⁄4 medium yellow onion, thinly sliced root to stem
  • 1⁄4 pound sliced pork
  • 1 egg
  • 3 cups steamed jasmine rice, preferably day-old
  • 2 tsps sugar
  • 2 1⁄2 tbsps Golden Mountain Seasoning Sauce
  • 1/2 cup halved cherry tomatoes
  • 2 green onions, cut on an angle into 2-inch lengths
  • Ground white pepper
  • Sriracha chili sauce


  1. Heat an empty pan over high until it begins to smoke, and then drizzle with oil. Once oil is shimmering, add onion and stir-fry until softened and translucent. Add pork and stir-fry until opaque but not fully cooked.
  2. Crack in egg and mix with pork and onion. Once egg is soft scrambled, add rice, sugar and seasoning sauce, working rice around the pan to distribute sauce evenly and break up egg. Add tomatoes.
  3. Continue to stir-fry rice until moisture has dried up, but not past the point when rice begins to stick to pan. Rice should be a slight toasted color.
  4. Remove from heat, throw in green onion and a dash of white pepper and toss. Transfer to a plate and serve with Sriracha chili sauce.
